First, we have a giveaway winner, for The Lure of Shapinsay
by Krista Holle. Random.org picked number
15, so our winner is booklovingfool! I’ve passed your details on to
Krista, who’ll sort out your prize. Thanks to all that entered!
Here’s a list of stuff that I’ve gotten that will actually
be reviewed some day in the future.
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower
- Tarzan by Andy Briggs
- Alice in Zombieland
- The Girl Who Lept through Time
- The Masque of the Red Death
- Ready Player One
Oh, and from a contest by
James Dawson, I also won the Kitty doll
he made, plus a copy of Hollow Pike. I think my book club are enjoying Hollow
Pike at the moment... and I also think Kitty’s enjoying her new home!
I went to a Hot Key Book
blogger lunch last week. They talked
about their launch list, books for next year, and they gave out proofs and a
really cool memory stick with copies of the whole launch list on it. We also
got to speak with Sarah Mussi, Sally Gardner, Lydia Syson and S J Kincaid. All
were really nice and great to talk to. For a better write up of this, you might
want to go here (Pewter Wolf) or here (Serendipity Reviews), but overall it was
an amazing event, and it was really nice talking to everyone such as Andrew
(Pewter Wolf), Megan(Book Addicted Girl), Bethany (The Bookette), Casey (Dark Readers)
and Stacey (Pretty Books). Huge thanks to Sarah and all at Hot Key Books for a
great day!
We had Lauren Kate come to
our school last Friday! After doing a talk on Rapture, her writing process, and
how everything worked, she did a signing and then a Q&A with our book club,
which’ll be published here when I have the time. Thanks to Lauren, and her
publicity and editor for a really nice afternoon.
And I’ve started planning
for The Month Before Halloween. Thanks for the comments about looking forwards to
it- but we’ll need content from other people to help us out! The idea is that
anyone who wants to writes something for it, or does an interview on what
scares them in real life or in fiction and so on. if anyone wants to take part
(and I hope lots of you do!), please fill out this form!
Looking back on it, that
really is quite a lot of exciting and random things to be happening... How’s
everything with you guys?
The blogger lunch sounded awesome! And you got some many great books, I can't wait to read Insignia! Happy reading :).
ReplyDeleteI think you will love The Perks of Being A Wallflower. Also Ready Player One, especially if you like 80s trivia or gaming.
